Purpose of the Job

Each Delivery Manager is responsible to deliver fully compliant product to cost and on time, safely and in accordance with all consents and commitments.
The following site quality control activities must be delivered within the production team. They may be undertaken by any appropriate member of the delivery team who has the required competence and authority within the team:

Responsibilities
The primary function of the QC engineer is to collect and collate the Documentation necessary for handover of the completed works (in the form of an IRN). The QC is expected to carry out site check of materials (against standards and specifications) and to inspect the installation of the permanent works across the packages assigned.
1. Attending CRL/ATC Quality Forums
2. To attend Package Readiness Reviews before commencement of any manufacturing, Installation and Completion activity
3. Creation and review of Surveillance Reports.
4. Attends weekly package co-ordination meetings
5. Liaising with Package Engineers/Managers for site Surveillances, and communicating to QA for entry onto Surveillance Schedule.
Ensure timely preparation of Inspection & Test Plans by the site engineers/package managers for the discipline related to their works for quality review.
Ensure timely notification of monitoring intervention points (hold, witness etc) as identified on ITPs
Ensure inspections of purchased/incoming material/components according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements - (checked by the logistics department and site engineers).
Accurately documenting the results of the inspections and testing
Reporting non-conformities on eB using the Non-Conformity Information Capture Form
Undertaking appropriate root cause analysis of non-conformities to identify effective action to prevent re-occurrence
Evaluating problems and making initial recommendations to the Delivery/Section Managers for immediate actions
Ensure all controlled document files and contemporaneous inspection and test records in a timely and accurate manner to support compilation of SAFs
Monitor and inspect random sample (plant, equipment and tools) to ensure proper operation and calibration (by others) - Quality will ensure calibration certificates are checked against the equipment used for inspection and testing.
Ensure calibration and site check records of inspection measuring & test equipment to demonstrate continued validity - (by others)
Supporting and encouraging good working practices and housekeeping
Ensuring that installation/delivery personnel understand what's needed for the work to conform to specified requirements
Identifying quality risks and hazards at construction site/s and taking appropriate actions as required
Working with Construction and Quality departments to provide feedback to construction teams on the accuracy of procedures without sacrificing Safety and Quality
Assisting and supporting UKAS accredited laboratory staff towards 'sampling' and to ensure all sampling records are maintained and are made available for inspection/audits etc. as and when required
Including quality control activities and 'Right 1st Time' requirements in Method Statements
Communicating the requirements of quality system procedures to the team as necessary
Assisting in surveillance activities undertaken by ATC or CRL

Educational Requirements
Professionally qualified engineer or recognised industry technical qualification relevant to the system specialisation (Mechanical & or Electrical)

Knowledge / Experience
Applicable suitable experience in project management & installation of M&E related systems in either a supervisory or trade role.
Experience of quality control
Experience in face-to-face client contact
Supplier management
Certification/Project assurance & handover process
Knowledge of and experience in using quality improvement tools, such as root cause analysis, lean six sigma etc
