Responsibilities
* To provide a focus for the MEP installation by coordinating Crossrail so that the ongoing design & installation are in compliance with Crossrail procedures & documentation.
* Carry out regular site visits to ensure that the construction is carried out in a safe manner, supporting the safety manager as required. Attend regular safety briefings.
* Managing the materials compliance records (MCR) system for all materials used on the project.
* Checking on site with the MEP contractor that materials delivered to site are compliant with the approved material.
* Managing construction documentation including; Method statements and Inspection & test plans. Ensuring that all test sheets are completed and recorded for later construction documentation.
* Coordinating site inspections with Crossrail to ensure installation compliance with the design and quality.
* Managing the Commissioning & Test plan process.
* Managing and creating documents for the O & M procedure, Material proposal procedure (MPS), Readiness review & Log out Tag out procedures.
* Providing functional support to the project manager to check that, so far as is reasonably practicable, progressive assurance or acceptance is obtained from Crossrail.
* Attend regular design meetings, quality meetings and interface meetings with Crossrail.
Key Skills
* Professional qualifications in an MEP discipline.
* Experience of and successful track record in a similar role on a major rail or infrastructure project.
* A good knowledge of design and/or construction standards for Crossrail projects.
* An understanding of the role of MEP engineering infrastructure including, tunnels and portals.
* An appreciation of the interaction between designers and engineering in the development and installation of the MEP in a new "underground" type installation.
* An understanding of commercial management, programme and the achievement of value for money.
* Excellent inter-personal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined management team.
* Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills.
