We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Onboard ETCS Engineer to join our Siemens Mobility team to work on Rail Systems Projects. Based in Brisbane, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the business that has immense market potential.

Responsibilities

• Expert in the integration of Onboard Train Protection Systems (such as ETCS and CBTP) into both new trains and inventory fleets for our customers.

• They will follow established Engineering practices and processes throughout the Project Lifecycle delivering the required outcomes for quality, cost and schedule.

• Responsible for carrying out, or for larger projects, leading the effort for the analysis of the Onboard system requirements, coordination and definition of the Onboard architecture of the complete system, formulation of system philosophies/architectures/interfaces, preparation of the technical offer documentation, coordination of the Onboard subsystems and Onboard technical customer negotiations.

• They establish an Onboard system architecture to fulfill the customer requirements.

• Consistent Onboard system management is to be ensured throughout the entire project execution phase in order to minimize the technical risks of complex projects.

The successful candidate may at times need to act as the Onboard Engineering interface for their areas of responsibility to the Customer, Project Management, the Bid Group, R&D, Product Line Management, other Engineering teams, technical interface partners, and other key stakeholders as necessary.

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in Onboard Train Protection System Engineering including system requirements analysis, system design, implementation and integration

• Detailed knowledge of relevant international rollingstock standards (such as EN50155, EN50343, EN50128, and EN50129)

• Ability to liaise effectively with the project teams and customers as necessary
