Performance Technical Engineer in Leeds, United Kingdom
JOB DESCRIPTION
A highly experienced person with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of modern technical systems, and proven capability in fault finding and electrical and mechanical repairs.
The Fleet Performance Technician has the responsibility to work at the Depot facility to conduct fault finding and repair of the Rolling Stock reporting the tasks performed. The Fleet Performance Technician reports to the Fleet Performance Team Leader.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Cross disciplined corrective maintenance tasks.
· Fault finding and repair of rolling Stock and spares.
· To make use of the Maintenance Management System.
· To work on modifications.
· Required to work in a cross discipline (mechanical and electrical) environment.
· Available to work in shift patterns.
· To transfer all significant and needed information to the next work shift staff.
· To know and comply with EHS and Quality requirements, procedures and instructions.
· To protect themselves and the rest of the employees, to attend the necessary Quality and EHS training.
· Adhere to COSHH work procedures
· Correct use of PPE
· Ensure tools, machinery and other devices in kept in good condition.
· To communicate to the superior every incident/accident that happens at workplace.
· Issuing new codes to materials, to unify existing part codes and to monitor and identify the actions to improve the data imputation quality in GMAO.
· To support the performance engineering department in the product improvement activities (Vehicle performance KPIs; Warranty ECR; Track of material; Modifications)

REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS
· NVQ 3 or above in an Engineering related discipline
· Health and Safety qualification (i.e. IOSH/ NEBOSH Certification) is desirable
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
· Experience in a Maintenance and repair of plant and equipment
· PC literate with the ability to learn new software programmes quickly
· Ability to learn new technologies quickly
· Proven experience in planning and organising
· Experience writing technical reports
· Rolling Stock Experience
· Experience delivering training
· Valid driver’s license
LANGUAGES
A knowledge of Spanish would be a plus
