Principal Bridge Engineer

I have a globally known client who deliver high quality, technical solutions for major infrastructure projects in the UK, who have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Bridge engineer to join their team in York and lead a team of Designers working on major rail projects.

The Role:

You will take a leading role in the delivery of complex bridge engineering schemes, whilst providing technical review and input to bids in support of working winning activated by the Team Leader. Day to day you will: -

• Ensure technical excellence within the Bridge design team is at satisfactory level
• Provide technical leadership to projects
• Monitor and develop design team competence
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Oversee technical input to proposal to support work winning activities

Ideal Candidate:

You will be able to display significant experience and knowledge within the industry as a Bridge engineer and will come from a technical, design background within the Rail sector.

• CENG certified.
• Minimum BSc Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Experience of leading a team of Designers in a tiered system
• Network Rail Bridge design experience to correct standard
• Significant experience of the design and detailing of bridge strengthening and repair
• Significant knowledge of bridge assessment
• Experience of working in both client and contractor-led design situations.
• Experience of all phases of the design of new or replacement bridge structures
• Knowledge of technological advances in bridge engineering.

Competitive salary up to £65,000 per annum.
