Principal Engineer
As a Principal Engineer you will be part of a team designing civil engineering structures, in the operational rail environment ranging from bridges, stations, route upgrades and ancillary structures such a large signal gantries.
Job Duties:
Undertake and manage the design of a variety of civil engineering structures.
Provide hands-on technical lead and take responsibility for the work of your team.
Ensure that projects are delivered to programme, budget and quality standards.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders.
Work with other discipline leads in multidisciplinary schemes.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians.
Prepare tenders including quality documentation and commercial proposals.
Assist in the development and management of your business unit.
Minimum Requirements
Design experience with major civil engineering structures.
Experience in technical and design project management.
Experience of design solutions in the UK rail infrastructure
Additional Comments:
Ideally you will have a good understanding of multi-disciplinary design in a rail environment considering other disciplines such as OLE, signalling, E&M and permanent way.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideally educated to master’s degree level in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
Chartered with a relevant institution ideally the Institution of Civil Engineers
