SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Utilities Engineer.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

Main Duties

• Lead design production and excellence within the discipline team
• Provide technical guidance to discipline design teams
• Lead innovative solutions to design problems
• Accountable for the design team, recruitment, training and development of staff
• Accountable for the allocation of work to designers including utilisation
• Integrate with international technical networks in the delivery of designs.
• Lead technical delivery of design discipline production to agreed programme, budget and safety and quality specifications
• Responsible for the delivery of CDM and design compliances
• Negotiating easements and licences with owners, preparation of instructions for legal services and consent documents
• Overall utility design coordination with other disciplines (structures, highways, drainage, water diversions, landscape and Environmental)

Experience

• Electrical, Gas or Water detail design experience
• Budgeting of solutions for utility diversions and new supplies
• Experience of statutory authority process
• Experience of using AutoCAD/Microstation software
• Chartered Member of IET, IGEM, Institute of Water or CIWEM
• Overall understanding of utility diversions, as well as the approval process
• Experience in Utility modelling
