We are currently looking for a Senior or Principal Bridge Engineer to be based within the Cardiff area. This would be working for a leading consultancy in which you will be involved in a range of small to large profile projects working on both Highways England and Network Rail schemes. This consultancy has been heavily involved in such major Rail infrastructure schemes as HS2 amongst others.  

You will be expected to carry out and undertake and oversee all aspects of design, which can include the supervision of junior Engineers and Graduates. Within the role you will be undertake new build design, feasibility studies, assessments of structures and acting as Lead Engineer undertaking the role of CRE on Network Rail schemes.

This position could be well suited to a candidate whom is looking to take that next step up from Senior Bridge Engineer whom is currently working within a technical capacity on Rail Civil, Structural and Bridge related schemes.  Bridge experience is key, (preferably rail) although if exposed to Highway Bridges with previous experience on rail structures projects then also this could be well suited. 

This would be a technical position, but also provide guidance leading projects and managing junior bridge engineers. This mean you should be comfortable in utilizing structural analysis packages to support the bridge design, and will be required to respond to contractors queries and attend site progress meetings.

Job requirements
• Actively working towards Chartership, or early Chartered (MICE or IStructie)
• Experience of bridge related schemes in a consultancy environment
• Proficiency in software such as Sam Leap, Staad, LUSAS, Superstress, Midas or similar
• Experience in using the Eurocodes
