Missions & Main activities
We are currently expanding in the UK and Ireland, growing our business and our team. One of the exciting projects the GIS Technician will work on relates to the execution of the Birmingham tramway network extension contract. The aim of this once-renewable five-year contract is to construct 4 km of new line in the coming three years (three extensions) and an additional 15 km in the following five years (one additional lines).
The role of Egis Rail is included in a partnership agreement called "The Midland Metro Alliance" which brings together the Prime Contractor, the Construction Consortium and the Engineering Office.
The RAMS Engineer will work closely with Egis Rail UK and other Egis subsidiaries.
The successful candidate will produce Reliability, Availability and Maintainability as well as Safety Deliverables within the Alliance and therefore interact with all the projects disciplines/sub-systems. The RAMS engineer will ensure that RAMS requirements are fully understood and applied consistently throughout the Alliance.
The RAMS Engineer is responsible for providing support and ensuring that the Alliance projects can demonstrate compliance to the relevant standards e.g. EN 50126, EN50129, IEC 61508 Series and other UK as EU related standards
You will have:
• Degree in relevant numerate discipline e.g. Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics.
• Master degree related to RAM, for example, MSc in Risk and Reliability Engineering or MSc in Railway Systems Engineering or similar; (desirable)
• Ability to work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines and balance priorities to achieve results
• Effective time management skills as required to attain budget and timescale restraints set forward by the project requirements and the ability to perform successfully in a challenging works environment
• Excellent communicator both written and verbal
• Experience of supporting organisation to build and grow successfully
