Our client is seeking a Requirements Engineer to support the delivery of the multi billion pound high speed rail line linking London to Birmingham and Manchester, which is a major engineering challenge in its complexity, budget and profile.
The individual will be responsible for supporting the integration of sponsor, stakeholder, technical and non-technical requirements at the highest level within the organisation and ensuring that these requirements are specified and managed within the delivery of the project.
Role Functions and Responsibilities:
Undertake the development of requirements and assurance criteria in order to comply with all regulations and standards to deliver on its objectives.
Work with route teams to enable more efficient solutions through the integration of activity, applying a system-wide approach to solutions and challenges to requirements.
Work consultatively and achieve agreements with stakeholders and third parties in agreeing their technical requirements and acceptance activity.
Engage with the Technical and Delivery teams to define the acceptance criteria for the requirements including design approval, demonstration of capability, acceptance of equipment and operability as appropriate.
Manage the frameworks for evaluation of development choices on a whole life whole system basis.
Maintain procedures, competence levels and systems for requirements management in order to ensure a robust approach to requirements management within the project.
Support the integration of the requirements systems with other elements of the HS2 BIM and IM activity.
The Successful Candidate:
Proven track record in client management of major projects and working with sponsors, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders.
Chartered Engineer in an appropriate discipline (or comparable qualification in Systems Engineering).
Qualified to Hons Degree level in an appropriate subject.
Demonstrable ability to deliver work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Demonstrable working knowledge in the use and application of requirements and verification processes, ideally within the rail, construction and utility industries.
Demonstrable expertise in Qualitative Schedule Risk Assessment.
Civil design and construction knowledge and the application of CDM activity.
Strong communication and Interpersonal skills.
