Samuel Knight Rail are pleased to be recruiting for a Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) , to be nominated and approved by Network Rail as a recognised CRE in the Telecoms disicipline, for our national sized principal contractor client.

The order book at this client is very strong, in fact it is the best order book they have ever had - as such, there will be opportunity to work on either a major project, or a program of smaller projects depending on the experience and skills of a successful candidate.

Some of the main duties & responsibilities within this role will be:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing the necessary engineering tasks that come with specific project requriements, in accordance with our clients pre-agreed quality & commercial standards, while also meeting agreed deadlines.
• Undertake the responsibilities of a CRE in the area of Telecoms within our clients project portfolio - as necessary this will be on major projects and a variety of smaller projects.
• Ensure that the quality of our clients work is to the highest standard, while also carried out in a safe and professional way
• As a senior member of the team, act as the responsible for track plant coordination
• Implement the necessary processes as outlined by our clients management system for projects and bids
• Prepare the commercial, programme and engineering information that will support future bids. Play an active role in supporting bids.
• Preperation of technical designs that support bids.

Competence

• Very good verbal and written communication skills
• A committed team member willing to support colleagues and go the extra mile
• Very good understanding of CDM rules and regs.
• First class experience and understanding of system design, how to develop a system design, railway safety concepts and how to apply choices in these areas to Rail telecoms.

Essential:

• CRE, or ability to be mentored at CRE
• Ability to travel as required, weekend works as required. National projects.

Other factors:

Commutable proximity to South Yorkshire Head Office to ensure fatigure management measures are in place for staff. Under 100 miles or 1.5 hours drive.

Will be required to attend site when required.
