Contract
Section Engineers required to be a part of a major rail refurbishment project on the London Underground.
Roles and Responsibilities
-Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
-Monitor the work under their control to ensure that any unsafe work conditions
-Ensure work is executed in a safe manner meeting legal guidelines set out in health safety and requirements and environmental compliance
-Understand and interpret all drawings and specifications ensuring all required information is contained.
-Raise TQs and RFI for to clarify details or gain additional required information in sufficient
-Complete resourced 3 week programme and organise resources necessary to meet the plan.
-Monitor four weekly programme, mark up progress for review at the weekly site review meeting
-Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques
-Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence,
-Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided
-Ensure daily diaries are maintained by engineers and provide additional detail where required
-Understanding of the project contract and raising of change to Sub-Agents and QS
-Produce Inspection and test plans in accordance with the specifications in advance of works commencing
-Ensure that testing & sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification and that quality assurance documentation is produced in a timely manner
-Ensure all materials are ordered on programme and to the required quantities minimising wastage.
-Manage a team of 2-3 direct reports assisting their technical development.
