Our client are currently looking to recruit a Senior Bridge Engineer to join their established transportation team in a centrally located Birmingham office. As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be required to work a diverse portfolio of projects across the rail and road sectors, including bridges and structures projects, providing design, assessment, inspection and strengthening works. Working for a multi-disciplinary office with an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes, you will also be involved with other sectors such as Geotechnical, Environmental, Transport Planning or Development. Providing engineering expertise and support to the HS2 project, as well as working with the South Wales Trunk Road Agent improving the road network in South Wales, you will work closely with other projects such as Forder Valley, Celtic Manor as well as Birmingham and Heathrow Airports.

As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will take a leading role in the design of major civil engineering structures as well as project managing schemes, your role will also involve client reporting, programme planning and resourcing, as well as commercial management. As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will be educated to degree and MSc level or equivalent in a related subject such as Bridges, Civils or Structures; as well as being Chartered or near to with ICE or IStructE. You will be experienced in Bridge Design and related structural assessments of inspections, as well as having the ability to use software packages including LUSAS and MIDAS; experience in finite element analysis is preferred. With a proven track record in the Project Management of rail and road projects with local authorities and main contractors, you will have good working knowledge of the Eurocode standards, coupled with the ability to manage staff.
