Job Summary

The Senior Engineer will work on technical analysis, report writing, project and task management, scoping, scheduling, and budgeting, project tracking and controls, staff development and management, and business development.

Acting in an independent, authoritative capacity, the candidate successfully must undertake multiple projects of various sizes and scope simultaneously, coordinates with clients and stakeholders, manages project team and staff, responds to changing project needs and goals, and coordinates personnel and deliverables.

Job Duties:

• Undertake projects adhering to a quality management system and ensure the they are executed to high technical standards and within budgets and to programme;

• Responsible for financial management, administration and control of projects;

• Provide essential technical design and management support to the team;

• Guide and mentor junior subordinate staff;

• Conceptual and detailed design of rail projects incorporating bridges, stations overhead line or signaling gantry design.

• Preparation/checking of contract documentation and bills of quantities;

• Administration of construction contracts;

• Ad-hoc site surveys and inspections.

• Staff development and management,

• Business development support

• Support for fee /tender proposals.

Specific Skills Required :

• Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in the UK Rail Industry and have a working knowledge of Network Rail Standards and designing in the operational rail environment. Knowledge of Eurocode design standards for the design of structures. Knowledge- of design software such as Superstress/ STAADPro essential and preferable Lusas.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience within similar projects and within a Consulting Engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
