Reporting to the Principal of Systems Engineering; The Systems Engineer (Senior or Consultant level) will be responsible for performing a range of Systems Engineering activies across a portfolio of large scale complex engineering rail and aviation projects. The role:

• Provide a range of technical consulting services and innovative solutions to SYSTRA Scott Lister clients across the Systems Engineering discipline.
• Maintain and develop high standards of technical practice across Systems Engineering activities and in accordance with relevant standards.
• Lead the capture, development and management of requirements within major rail and aviation engineering programmes.
• Manage the development and use of systems architecture through the appropriate use of tools and techniques.
• Support the continuous development of a Systems Engineering management tool kit
• Apply pragmatic best practice Systems Engineering techniques to support bids and tenders.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and realise commercial opportunities through to program/project delivery.
• Provide continual subject matter expertise to ensure exceptional consulting services and client relationships are delivered and maintained.
• Lead and mentor

Required experience & skills:

• Degree Qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Direct experience of delivering Systems Engineering/Consulting expertise across complex Rail or Aviation programs/projects.
• A thorough knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and Systems Engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS, MBSE tools, MS Visio etc.
• A thorough understanding of the typical engineering management, project development and implementation cycles.
• Exceptional written and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and manage client and stakeholder requirements / relationships.
• Highly motivated with evident problem-solving capabilities including planning and delivering technically complex significant projects.
