We are currently working with one of the leading design consultancies whom are looking to recruit for a Senior or Principal Bridge Engineer to based within their Norwich office. The relevant consultancy has a strong and prestigious reputation within Engineering in which pride themselves on technical excellence. As the Senior Bridge Engineer, you will work on a variety of infrastructure projects which can include both rail and highway bridge schemes. Projects can vary from both more regional projects to major infrastructure projects which could include the likes of HS2 amongst others. 

As the Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be expected to work autonomously in undertaking projects, feasibility and design, depending on project requirements. Within the role you will be the technical lead managing the junior engineers and taking control of projects which includes financial and programme targets.

This position would be well suited to either a Senior or Principal Bridge whom is ideally Chartered but non-chartered engineers with demonstrable experience will also be considered. 


Job Requirements

• Degree qualified in civil engineering
• Ideally Chartered (or possibly Incorporated) Engineer with a strong technical focus
• Previous relevant experience of working in UK civil engineering environment and with involvement in the full project lifecycle, including budget / finance control
• Proven team leading role, to lead a small team to undertake and deliver design solutions
• Ability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required
• Demonstrable hands-on experience of successful design to British Standards and Eurocodes in steel and concrete
• Working knowledge of structural design software such as STAAD, Robot or similar
