Missions & Main activities

We are currently expanding in the UK and Ireland, growing our business and our team. The Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) rail network extends circa 2,400km and it operates approximately 600 passenger trains and 10 freight trains per day. There are 144 stations on the network and annual passenger numbers are approximately 45 million. IÉ is undertaking a multi annual project to replace its existing train control/warning systems with a modern Train Protection System (TPS).

These new TPS involves Trackside and Onboard engineering. It is essential that the Trackside and On-board are integrated successfully with one another. IÉ has existing CAWS and ATP infrastructure in place on part of its network which must work with the proposed TPS system.

The system integration support engineer will integrate the System Integration team. The team is currently composed of a System integration manager working remotely on the project and the System Integration support engineer based permanently in the project’s offices.

The role will include regular meeting with the client, the consultant partners and the contractors working on the TPS project. The System Integration Support Engineer must keep a direct contact with the System Integration Manager in order to answer related questions on his behalf if required.
The role includes writing plan, organising workshops or meeting to support this activity.

This role will work closely with Egis Rail UK and other Egis subsidiaries.
