Role: Systems Engineer / Systems Thinker

I am looking to place a Systems Engineer in an international engineering consultancys Glasgow office, primarily supporting a major nuclear submarine supply programme and wider defence-biased schemes. The role would suit someone with an analytical skillset and experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Systems Thinking. You may come from a background in military equipment engineering (land/sea/air/communications) or another analytical discipline, or you may be a well-established Systems Engineering Practitioner.

Ideally, you will have experience of operating in an engineering or military setting covering some of the following:

• Systems Requirements Documents (SRDs)
• Verification and Validation Requirements Matrices (VVRMs)
• Integrated Test Evaluation and Acceptance Planning (ITEAPs)
• Acceptance Case Reports (ACRs)
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Systems Algorithms
• IBM Rational DOORS
• Systems Engineering Documentation production

You will work in a team of around 10 other Systems Engineers / Thinkers to a major nuclear naval supply programme, ensuring smooth delivery of the scheme over the next 10 years and supporting other schemes as part of a dedicated defence-biased project team. You will have the chance to work with Navy Command personnel and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, developing your working knowledge of military supply schemes, base upgrades, construction programmes, and more.

Ideally, you will hold membership of a relevant body such as the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) or The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and will be keen to continue developing your Systems Engineering capabilities. Salaries above are a guide, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, though those with considerably more are welcome to apply as the potential to migrate to a more senior position is available. Successful candidates should be aware that due to the nature of the project they will be required to hold current SC clearance or have no barriers to obtaining it.

Job Requirements:

• Relevant education in Engineering / analytical discipline
• Relevant experience in Systems Engineering / Systems Thinking
• Experience of Requirements Capture/Management, Model-Based Systems Engineering, IBM Rational DOORS, Verification, Validation and Testing (VVT) / VVRMs, Acceptance Case Reports (ACRs)
• Background in Military Supply Programmes, DE&S, Defence Infrastructure (desirable)
• Member INCOSE (ASEP / CSEP) or IET
• Current or able to obtain SC Clearance
