Systems Engineer – North East London - £45-48,000 per annum + benefits

My client is looking for a systems engineer to work with door systems, couplers and the body, structure and windows of rolling stock. They are looking for someone with mechanical engineering experience, who is competent working with damaged components and treating corrosion damage. They will focus on the maintenance, modification and repairs of systems and structure.

Key duties will include:

• Creation of vehicle maintenance instructions
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanic schematics
• Experience with the repair of damaged components and corrosion damage
• Monitoring multi-fleet reliability: performance, quality, risk, component life and safety factors
• Understanding and application of appropriate NDT techniques
• Report writing for in-service incidents and rolling stock failures
• Supplier management and auditing
• In-depth multi-disciplinary fault finding
• Implementation of contractual and legal obligations
• Mentoring and coaching of apprentices and graduates within the department

My client is looking for someone who has project management experience, an understanding finances and has good presentation and organisational skills. The role may include some short continental trips so must be willing to travel. Ability to communication basic French and understand French technical terminology is advantageous.
