Systems Engineer in Bristol, United Kingdom
We are currently searching for Systems Engineers to work on an extensive Submarine Infrastructure project. You will work on variety of project roles and multiple disciplines, who has a commercial understanding as well as knowledge of MoD processes and procedures.
You will be working on a large framework, the PSP(N) Framework involves the provision of multi-disciplinary design and engineering, programme / project management, project controls, risk management, procurement and construction supervision services and expertise to the MOD DIO at all the UK nuclear submarine-related naval bases, particularly HMNB Clyde in Scotland, and a number of related UK facilities, to support a programme of life extension and new infrastructure construction projects for the current and future UK nuclear submarine fleet, to support the UK’s continuous-at-sea-deterrence and nuclear submarine operations to 2050 and beyond.
As the Systems Engineer works closely with the wider Project Team (PT) to:
- Plan, develop, update Systems Engineering (SE) documentation ie RAMPs, SRDs, VVRMs, ITEAP, Integration Plans, Test Plans, Test schedules, Acceptance Case Reports
- Steer the Systems Engineering principles and processes through Navy Command stakeholder’s approval processes
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the Defence sector Acquisition System Guidance principles, processes and product
- Able to provide the SME advice to the Navy Command Stakeholders and the project teams (Project Managers, Safety Case Engineers and Design Engineers) regarding the systems engineering processes;
- Undertake and be responsible for capturing, validating and managing the project’s requirements and Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance strategy and planning;
- Provide SME advice and being responsible for interface management of systems with the project and in the other projects;
- Competent (or better ) with IBM Rational DOORS
This position is based in Bristol:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a recognised engineering or science discipline
- Membership of an appropriate professional body (such as INCOSE)
- Previous experience working for Ministry of Defence (MoD) project dealing with the development of SRDs, VVRMs, ITEAPs and ACRs.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of the HMNB(Clyde) processes and procedures
- Experience of capability definition within the MoD environment.
- Leadership and facilitation of development workshops in the MoD environment
SC Clearance is a requirement, & all applicants would be required to undertake SC application and BPSS if successfully hired into the role, if not currently held
