McGinley's are working with a world class leader in the international market for the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems, to find an experienced Systems Engineer in Newport.
The Systems Engineer will be involved in all technical activities necessary to ensure the systems design is compliant to customer requirements and applicable law and standards, managing sub-suppliers equipment design, its integration and the verification and validation of the solutions. They will actively take part in the design enhancements needed to solve problems that arise during production, testing and commissioning.
They are the most complete manufacturer of rail vehicles in the UK market and it's an exciting time to join, as they have announced plans to build a new state-of-the art assembly hub in Newport. The new assembly hub is being designed to build a range of different trains, including diesel multiple units (DMUs), electric multiple units (EMUs), trams and high-speed trains.
The System Engineer will be involved with different electronic systems installed on board, like Passenger Information System, ASDO, Passenger Counting System, Seat Reservation System, and Wi-Fi. They will lead the Interface between the system supplier and the rest of the team involve in the project: engineering team, quality, testing, approvals, purchasing and project management. Therefore would need a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and a minimum of 2 years experience in railway sector in Systems engineering, or testing.
