JOB DESCRIPTION

CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for rail systems with presence across the globe in all continents. In the UK market we are present for more than a decade and now we are expanding exponentially through a corporate holding and two differentiated business units: rolling stock and rail services. This exciting new role belongs to the Rolling Stock Business Unit. As the Testing and Commissioning Engineer of the Caledonian Project, you will have responsibilities for testing trains and resolving any engineering issues that may arise during the Test Programme of the project. This will involve you communicating with UK and overseas to enable you to fully understand the procedures. You will be responsible for the analysis of testing data and compiling technical reports and issue your findings to key stakeholders.

In addition you will be leading a team of Testing and Commissioning Technicians. The role will be based in Glasgow but you will be required to travel frequently around the UK to perform the train-testing required by CAF group and the Client.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILTIES Developing Test Procedures and Method Statements to support the test program. Looking after the installation, integrity, maintenance and fault rectification of the train borne test equipment and managing the testing contractors as necessary in accordance with procedures. Ensuring measurement systems are documented and maintained in accordance with procedures. Carrying out Test and Commissioning duties, including maintaining testing logs and documents and controlling tests data in accordance with relevant procedures. • Analysing test data and reporting on test results to relevant stakeholders. Liaise with relevant system experts in Engineering to progress commissioning and type testing issues.
