Tunnel Section Engineer - TBM in London, London, United Kingdom
My Client, a leading Global Contractor is currently seeking a Section Engineer to work on a prestigious project in London.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
* Management of site activities including maintaining production of 2 EPB TBM's in mixed geology, documentation (RAMS), quality control (ITPs), and records (diaries, emails).
* Leading the delivery of tunnel/TBM and other related works in accordance with the project programme.
* Responsibility for the production of short term activity programmes and ensuring all engineers are aware of upcoming works.
* Initially working Monday - Friday 8am-5pm but potentially to move to 7/3/7/4 shift pattern when TBM's are operational.
Safety:
* Ensuring compliance with the all Health, Safety and Environmental Plans and Procedures and associated Risk Assessments, Method Statements and works drawings. Ensuring this information is disseminated to the appropriate personnel and the work force.
* Liaison with the section foreman and supervisors to ensure the adherence to safe methods of work and programme.
Environment:
* Ensuring compliance with the all Health, Safety and Environmental Plans and Procedures and associated Risk Assessments, Method Statements and works drawings. Ensuring this information is disseminated to the appropriate personnel and the work force.
Quality
* Preparation and revision of RAMS, and ITP, and the monitoring of working practices against these to ensure compliance.
* Coordination of materials testing and ensuring records are created and passed on for archiving correctly and includes entering into databases where necessary.
Engineering/Planning
* Engineering control of the works according to each discipline including design implementation and completion of quality control systems.
Client/Communication
Candidate should be familiar with NEC form of contract and have experience in liaising with Project Management team on large scale Tunnelling projects.
Commercial
Candidate should be familiar with NEC form of contract and have experience in liaising with Project Management team on large scale Tunnelling projects.
Accountabilities

General Skills and Qualifications:
* 5 years TBM tunnelling experience
* London Major Works
Good survey skills and knowledge
Specific Qualifications:
* Civil Engineering Degree or similar suitable qualification
* CSCS card
* Tunnel Safety Card
Tunnelling Safety course
Behavioural Competencies:
* Experience of working as a team player on tunnelling projects which operate 24/7
Experience of leading site and shift engineer teams as well as coordination with labour supervisors
Technical Competencies:
* 5 years TBM tunnelling experience
* Civil Engineering Degree or similar suitable qualification
