An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Railway Finance Manager to join a well-known railway consultancy.

As Chief Finance Manager you will provide a comprehensive Financial Management service to an Engineering division. This will include producing accurate and timely monthly financial reports, attending regular meeting with budget holders to advise on the financial position of the division and leading the annual budget setting for the division.

The Chief Finance Manager will support the production of business cases including presenting them to the group board and assist with Capital Bids.

The Finance Manager will ideally be a qualified Accountant although applications from finalists may also be considered. With a strong Railway Accounting background the Chief Finance Manager will be confident and outgoing with the ability to build strong relationships across the railway division. The ability to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines is essential to be successful in the role

• Weekly and monthly reporting
• Quarterly forecasting and budgeting
• Statutory Accounting, Tax and Treasury
• Year end, half year end including external reporting
• Full production of the glossy accounts
• Financial Consolidation
• Defining new controls and developing/enhancing the systems

As the Chief Finance Manager role is seen as a central role and pivotal to the business in providing information to the board, the requirement will be targeting a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant likely to be coming out of practice or else, a technically strong accountant who has qualified in industry and wanting to step up.

The role of Chief Finance Manager is a key appointment to the business and a role that will get a huge degree of exposure right across the organisation.
