THE PROJECT

This is a fabulous opportunity to work on a first-class major highways scheme valued at £1.5 Billion which will see improvements across a 21 mile stretch of the A14 running from Cambridge to Huntingdon. The scheme will be delivered by four of the UK leading civil engineering giants and will be fully operational by 2020. The scope of works will include topographical, environmental and archaeological surveys, construction of 70 new structures as well a demolition of existing RC structures, construction of the new A14 free flow link road, bulk earthworks, drainage & landscaping in addition to motorway communication and traffic management systems. This will be a demanding project that will challenge your capabilities and almost certainly enhance your expertise and catapult your career to the next level. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You’re the ideal General Foreman if you have previous road construction experience and are looking to work on a hugely prestigious scheme.

THE ROLE

There are multiple packages of works on this project split over 5 sections which could see you work on anything from road widening from a two-lane dual carriage way to a three-lane dual lane carriage way; a new single road carriageway access roads and associated slip ways to the construction of new bridges, junction works and even the de-trunking/downgrading of the existing route.

As a General Foreman, you will be ensuring work is carried out according to H&S, Quality and Client regulations. A General Foreman on this project will also be responsible for the delivery conducted by engineers and subcontractors alike.

THE REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this General Foreman position you must have a minimum of CSCS Card, SSSTS, and First Aid. You will also need to be proficient and literate in MS Word, Excel among other pieces and IT.
