The reason behind this desire for growth is to make more efficient use of company overhead and enable the company to convert more Tier 1 opportunities. Over 70% of current sales are through direct contracts with Network Rail.

Primary duties include commercial administrative duties to support contract delivery.
As such we are looking to strengthen our Commercial/Quantity Surveying team by adding an Assistant Commercial Manager/Junior QS.
Key Responsibilities
• An understanding of principles of the Health & Safety at Work Act, the Construction Regulations, relevant Railway Group and Network Rail Company Standards and other current relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practices and official guidance.
• Assist with establishment & implementation of commercial governance within the project team.
• Responsible for project margin returns in line with business expectations. Ensure development and delivery of project, in conjunction with the construction team of a robust programme & budget.
• Responsible for Monitoring and managing all project reporting including identification of variances, forecasting, AFC’s, budget and authority in accordance with company reporting systems.
• Provide assistance, during tendering and procurement, regarding the drafting and negotiation of contract types and mechanisms.
• Responsible for administration of the contract, to ensure either mitigation or swift and effective resolution of disputes.
• Responsible for developing, maintaining and managing mutually beneficial relationships with customers to ensure the effective management of business agreements and contracts.
• Contribute towards development of supplier and sub-contract frameworks.
• Assist with the tender vetting process to ensure all developing business opportunities and bids meet agreed commercial criteria, including profitability and risk minimisation.
• Provide support to the negotiation and agreement of sub-contract arrangements to minimise risk and maximise the advantage to the business
• Identify and manage risks in relation contracts/business arrangements.
• Pro-active monitoring and administration of change to and from all stakeholders to the advantage of the business.

Qualifications
Desirable Qualifications: Associated degree in Quantity Surveying or similar and working towards chartership.
Desirable Competencies: Understanding of Construction and/or Rail environment.
