Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator

We are currently working with an engineering consultancy, specialising in Signalling Design, who are looking for an Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator to join their Longbridge, Birmingham, office on a part time basis (2-3 days per week) on a hybrid-basis. This position will be working within the Signalling Design team on various projects.

This position will be working within the Signalling Design team on various projects.
As Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the design CRE/Eng Director in leading a multi-discipline team to achieve the pre-determined objectives of an individual Project(s)
- Reasonability for the delivering to time, cost, and quality
- Ensure the integrity of project reports
- Produce and review project commercial analysis including Forecasts, Backlog and subcontractor costs each month
- On behalf of the Engineering director ensure the application of safe working environment throughout
- Ensure the effective management and control of change
- Identification, analysis, and management of project risks
- Formulation, management and tracking of the project plan and budget, together with the necessary project reporting
- Co-ordination of work with other contractors and Network Rail
Job requirements:
- Highly intelligent with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially astute.
- Sound understanding of the railway signalling delivery
- Good verbal and written communications, including Customer Facing skills.
- A good Working Knowledge of the main Engineering disciplines (Electrical / Electronic Design, Software Design, Mechanical Packaging Design, System Design and System Integration).
- Experience of Railway Standards
