Our client is looking to recruit various levels of Buyer, you must have a background in Rail and Infrastructure, and have experience of NEC contracts.

The client is ideally looking for a permanent candidate but would consider a contractor

Responsibilities will include:

•To ensure all business requirements are competitively sourced in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.

•To pro-actively contribute to the savings targets of the Sourcing department.

•To negotiate Terms & Conditions on behalf of the business.

•To manage existing contracts, performing regular Supplier reviews, and undertake contract negotiations for goods and services as required.

•To bring innovation into the Supply Chain through benchmarking Suppliers/Products, and introducing new Suppliers/technologies for improved QCD performance.

•To provide full Sourcing support for any identified project activities / requirements.

•To maintain an accurate ‘base data’ with the computer-based purchasing and stock-management system.

•To monitor supplier performance and ensure that price, service levels and quality are maintained at agreed levels.

•To develop sourcing strategies, including the use of e-procurement tools, in conjunction with the Unit Sourcing Manager and other representatives.

•To resolve any contractual or performance issue associated with supplier agreements in a timely fashion.

•To respond to supplier and internal queries in a timely and professional manner.

•To act as an ambassador for and the Sourcing function both internally and externally.

Desired Knowledge / Experience:

•Minimum of 3 years experience in Sourcing/Tenders

•Experience in the Railway Systems and Infrastructure Industry is essential

•Financial and Commercial awareness.

Education:

•Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with CIPS qualification (or be studying for CIPS)
