OUTCOMES:
Support the Alliance in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects compliant with Network Rail Standards and Business Process Documentation to budget and defined timescales.
Support the Contractors Engineering Manager in the integration of all discipline designs within the programme; ensuring integration with all other design, construction and existing infrastructure.
Undertake the checking, review and approval of design in accordance with the design delivery programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for design compliance and assurance process, paying particular attention to the management of interfaces between design, installation and testing activities
* Responsible for the planning, implementation and management of an Inter Disciplinary Check process
* Undertake the management of design reviews with designers and checkers involving the Designated Project Engineers
* Support the Designated Project Engineer in reviewing as built drawings.
* Support the Contractors Engineering Manager in attendance at GRIP 1-3 walkouts as required
* Support the Designated Project Engineer in managing engineering site visits during development and delivery phases
* Support Project Engineer in undertaking manufacturer inspections
* Responsible for the implementation and management of a technical query process
* Responsible for the upkeep of technical competencies to maintain relevant certification/ licences
* Support the Contractors engineering Manager in the management of any technical change control.
* Ensure interface between all discipline Contractors Responsible Engineering Managers
* Attend cascade briefing of technical standards and changes to technical standards
* Responsible for management of the design checking process
* Support Contractors Engineering Manager with mentorship of any designers or Contractors Responsible Engineers as required
* Apply the application of CDM to all design and eliminate risks during development and through the design (safe by design principles)
* Responsible for management of a robust job specific Designers Risk Assessment process. Ensuring DRA's are generated by the designers in a uniform format, with design considerations documented and residual risks clearly identified
* Responsible for the checking of design at each stage against the latest version of the specification
* Responsible for the raising of technical non compliance requests to the Designated Project Engineer for derogation
* Support the Designated Project Engineer in attendance of constructability reviews
* Support the Contractors Engineering Manager within a functional capacity and deputise where necessary and appropriate
