Job Title – Commercial Manager
Location - Manager
Rate - £ Negotiable per day
Duration – Initial 6 months
The role of a Commercial Manager:
You will provide Pre/ post contract commercial support for designated packages of work, this will include Subcontract, materials and direct labour. You will ensure Projects are successfully delivered within time and cost, acting as a primary interface to work package managers, key stakeholders and suppliers. You will be responsible for but not limited to:
Managing and Change controlling of work packages;
Providing key commercial interface for responsible work package manager;
Cost managing including forecasting, budget managing and control;
Monitoring and actively managing and mitigating work package risks;
Providing input to internal and external commercial reports as required;
Establishing and maintaining interfaces with key stakeholders including finance, project management, engineering, sub-contractors, suppliers and clients;
Maintaining auditable records for responsible work packages in accordance with contractual requirements;
You will ideally have:
Experience within a similar or related industry e.g. rail engineering, defence, construction (essential)
Degree qualified or equivalent and / or hold or working towards a professional qualification – RICS, IACCM or similar (essential)
Strong track record in a contractor side, project environment (essential)
Able to manage both direct labour and subcontract costs (essential)
Ability to estimate change / variations using various methods (essential)
Able to forecast cost and measure cost of work complete (essential)
Ability to manage commercial strategies (essential)
Good financial and commercial acumen (essential)
Ability to work under own initiative and under cost or time critical conditions (essential)
Good Contractual knowledge and experience (essential)
