Purpose of the Job
Assist in populating an integrated Technical Assurance database which provides the elements of programme assurance documents.
Principal Accountabilities
- Manage and maintain the Systems Breakdown Structure (SBS) Technical System ensuring system assurance records and evidence are accurate and consistent.
- Manage controlled assurance evidence sets of information from Contractors collecting them in a logical grouping; these will generally consist of a combination of contractor’s deliverables and our own assurance products.
- Attend various technical assurance meetings with assurance providers to review the provision of assurance evidence required to update the Database.
- Manage access to the assurance reporting environment required by external stakeholders, Operations, Infrastructure Managers and others.
- Prepare assurance evidence packages at various levels for acceptance by the relevant Infrastructure Manager or Train Operator.
- Manage the reporting process, to include production of existing report formats, and also to act as the lead in developing other reports, as requested by others.
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to Target Zero principles.

Main challenges of the job
The post holder is required to support the Employer ensuring there is sufficient technical assurance evidence in place for the project covering Stations, Portals, Shafts, Tunnels, Route and System wide Rail systems. In addition, support the Systems Assurance Acceptance Manager and Head of Technical Assurance by:
- Supporting the explanation to others the assurance processes
- Ensuring consistency of the process and maintaining accurate records
- Managing data capture to ensure the integrity of the database
- Comprehending and being able to explain to others the data required to provide technical assurance evidence to various parties and ensure its timely submission
- Prioritising and escalating assurance issues to the System Assurance Acceptance Manager/ Head of Technical Assurance
Person Specification
- A driven, determined and persistent individual to progress data collection
- Good academic background
- A good knowledge of assurance and what constitutes good practice
- Excellent IT literacy skills
- Excellent inter-personal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidiscipline management team and individually
- Excellent written and communication skills
