Director, Digital Railway Freight Strategy
Consultancy Contract 3 days p/w
c£750 per day plus expenses
Co-ordinating and promoting the interests of Rail Freight companies in the development and application of digital railway initiatives including ERTMS, this role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of rail freight activities in an influential, leadership and representative capacity.
Candidates should have professional level experience of the rail freight sector from either operational and/or engineering perspectives. Working with senior managers and leaders of freight businesses; the role represents their companies and interests to Network Rail through the rail industry’s digital railway programme forum and other contacts.
The role will include considerable engagement with a wide range of companies, representative bodies and other stakeholders.
Personal skills should be high level in organisation, diplomacy, lobbying, strategic management and the exertion of positive influence. Knowledge should include appreciation of the key issues in the rail freight sector at present and the impact of digital railway and ERTMS.
This role will suit a senior level candidate seeking a long term contract position with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to rail freight in the UK.
The role will probably be delivered from a home base but will require travel to London quite frequently and occasionally elsewhere. It is estimated that time required will average at three days per week but will vary.
