Electrification and Plant, which includes all traditional E&P sub-disciplines along with
Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) and traction power distribution.
Liaising with the respective Eastern Region Lead Discipline Engineer as required. For
example, agreeing a high-level strategic view on emerging discipline issues and advising on
courses of action.
Contributing to the development of concepts and options that meet the Project's Output
Requirements. This shall include promoting innovative solutions and the possible
introduction of new technologies (based upon work being done by industry national
discipline teams for example).
Supporting technical interfacing activities with other programmes & projects, this is
particularly important regards to traction power modelling across multiple interfacing
programmes.
Liaising with discipline counterparts within Network Rail's Asset Management and
Maintenance organisations as required. This may include assisting with securing existing
asset records.
Providing Requirements Management technical advice and solutions (using DOORS as NR's
preferred RM tool).
Lead the ongoing development of Project technical requirements to support future
Development Project phases (in liaison with Eastern Region's centralised Systems
Engineering function).
Discipline input to the production of Contract Requirements-Technical and project
engineering strategies and plans.
Responding to discipline specific Requests for Information (RFIs) and Technical Queries
(TQs).
Overseeing and developing Project Engineers in the same discipline working on the project.
