Position Purpose:

Lead the delivery integration and interface planning of the ETCS Onboard fitment works for the successful delivery and operational readiness of the European Train Control System (ETCS) programs. Manage and negotiate conflicting and complex program milestones and schedules both internally and with key external stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, develop and manage diverse program of ETCS Onboard fitment and commissioning works to enable the successful implementation and operation of the ETCS project.

  1. Participate as a member of the ETCS Program leadership team to provide leadership and strategic solutions to key interface issues to ensure program delivery and integration results in a highly complex and diverse brownfields environment.

  1. Maintain the processes required for value-focused design, verification, construction validation and commissioning of rail infrastructure works associated with the delivery and integration of ETCS programs and other interdependent projects.

  1. Manage a range of complex relationships and objectives across the business, and other external bodies to ensure agreed delivery targets and milestones are achievable focusing on improving and optimising integration and operational readiness aspects of the program

  1. Identify, manage and mitigate risks arising from the concurrent execution of several complex and diverse projects. This will require strategic management of a range of interfaces to ensure integration and alignment of ETCS program milestones.

  1. Develop and implement engagement and communication strategies with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure program objectives are achieved in an integrated and transparent manner.

  1. Work within business-wide and project management governance, client, government, industry and legislative requirements whilst managing a complex range of internal and external stakeholder objectives, relationships and project interfaces.

  1. High level of skill in program management, managing conflicting project schedules and project integration.

  1. Extensive knowledge of railway systems, rollingstock and engineering assets.

  1. High level of skill using creativity and innovation in driving change to achieve functional transformation.

  1. Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations and associated legislation and organisational governance principles relating to the Rail Industry.

  1. High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
