We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Power Engineer to manage the development of the specification, design and delivery of power systems on a Rail project in London.
The Electrical Power Engineer will have the following Principal Accountabilities
* Plan and control of reporting engineers and own work to meet project and technical requirements.
* Deliver designs for DC traction power systems and LVAC power systems Provision of assurance for design and delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure safety and quality requirements are met for power projects.
* Investigate technology changes for power system components which benefit the company.
* Work with other departments for design development, implementation and commissioning, including relevant compliance agreements.
* Manage interface designs with Rolling Stock, Signalling, Civils etc. Develop mutually acceptable designs, review fault levels, protection etc.
* Review and approve Contractor's method statements and risk assessments.
* Provide documentation for CDM Health and Safety Files Conduct site audits of Contractor's work for compliance with health and safety requirements
The Knowledge, Skills and Experience expected of the Electrical Power Engineer
* Good technical skills in electrical engineering and experience in power systems.
* Detail conscious with good analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Able to understand the relationships between power, rolling stock and signals.
* To undertake system studies and develop designs based on the studies.
* Essential: The candidate should be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership with ten years experience of power systems engineering preferably in a rail environment. Desirable:
* Ideally with a BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering. Experience of Rolling Stock and signals interfaces would be an advantage.
