The Role

You will be leading an engineering team in a busy maintenance depot to deliver a safe and reliable service.

This key appointment will involve;

• Ensure all engineering activities adhere to Company and industry regulations and standards

• Constantly review and recommend improvements to processes

• Plan maintenance schedules and resources to meet requirements

• Review depot performance to targets, making recommendations to ensure availability and reliability of the fleet and a clean, safe working environment

• Clearly communicate goals and expectations to your team

• Create a motivated workforce through regular training, mentoring and people development

• Control costs and report on performance to budgets

• Work as an effective and positive member of the management team to support continued success and growth of the business

About You

You should be an ambitious Engineer or Technician from a public transport environment who has experience of leading teams and managing budgets. Your drive to achieve results will make you stand out as you continue to develop your career.

A minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline is required as is a qualification in management or leadership.

You will have proven success in meeting health and safety standards within an engineering or vehicle maintenance depot and understand unionised environments.

A positive and motivational leadership style is essential as are strong communication and reporting skills.
