I am looking for an Environmental/ Geotechnical engineer to join a major design consultancy providing the ecological support on various rail, road and water projects. You will be responsible for the full life cycle of projects from option appraisals, through environmental assessment and detailed design stages to the construction phase.
This is an exciting position and exists the opportunity to resolve complex site-based ecological issues through the implementation of mitigation and enhancements works.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out Phase 1 habitat surveys and possibly other habitat surveys
- Carry out protected species surveys
- Prepare survey reports
- Assist with carrying out ecological impact assessment
- Carry out Environmental Clerk of Works role or similar supervisory roles
- Assist with preparing protected species license applications
- Advise clients/contractors on ecological issues including giving short talks
- Carry out relevant health and safety training and activities as required
- Willing and able to travel within the UK
- Willing to learn and expand their ecological experience, including obtaining protected species licenses.
