Samuel Knight are looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to work for a leading client within their Group Safety Team. Reporting to the Head of Safety Development, this role will lead, promote and develop environmental safety across all operational areas, resulting in the continued improvement in the Group safety performance.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Maintaining, developing and setting environmental standards across all areas of the Group’s operations, ensuring they meet the relevant legislative requirements
- Management and mitigation of environmental risks
- Providing environmental advice, troubleshooting and consultancy to the Group
- Undertake environmental technical and other process-based audits to an agreed plan and support local managers to address and close out non-compliances
- Horizon scanning: Appraisal of future risks to include recommendations for implementation as required
- Attending relevant industry meetings
- To support and assist other members of the Group Safety team as directed
Skills & Requirements:
- Relevant experience in the Environmental Management field
- Nebosh Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management, or equivalent
- Internal Auditor trained
- The ability to communicate effectively verbal and written
- Good Report writing skills
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage own time and diary ,work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good problem Solving skills
- Good IT skills
The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, be willing to pursue change and have the ability to use initiative and make reasoned and proactive suggestions in order to deliver an improved safety performance.
A current driving license is a needed as this role will require you to travel and work away from home.
