Position: Estimator
Location: St Alban's, Hertfordshire
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Company Benefits
This is an opportunity to work for a regional contractor, arguably one of the best specialising in the fields of signalling, electrical engineering and specialist building services with a £25 Million turnover, which they are planning to double in the next year!
Due to expansion and continued success, they are now looking to grow their team based in the Head Office in an environment where everyone knows everyone's name!
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Estimator with a good understanding of the electrical, signalling and infrastructure industry.
Estimating Duties:
- Attend project start-up meetings
- Produce enquiry schedules for scope of works & packages required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued.
- Identify tender deliverables
- Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers
- Prepare BOQ for scopes of projects on estimating programs (such as Excel, Causeway, CCS Candy & Kubus)
- Attend tender price settlement meetings in the presence of the tender team
- Prepare commercial documents for tender handover to projects team.
- Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tenders.
Estimating Candidate Requirements:
- 8+ years experience working for main contractor / subcontractor within infrastructure
- MUST have electrical experience
- MUST have experience working for London Underground
- Proven successful estimating experience in civil engineering
- Extensive variety in types of work priced
- IT Literate
