As a modern rail business, they have recently restructured the executive board as well as the senior management teams in order to help drive them into a new era and are now in a position to recruit several key hires-including The Fleet Engineering Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This Fleet Engineer Manager role presents an excellent opportunity for those motivated by and capable of seeing engineering teams through business change. The current incumbent is progressing to group level and needs a strong and technically astute professional as a successor. All maintenance for the fleet is undertaken by the OEM and another TOC so this role requires someone with strong commercial acumen able to manage engineering changes that effect the fleet and drive the improvement of maintenance practices. ABOUT THE JOB

The Fleet Engineering Manager will lead a team of six direct reports and support the introduction of a brand-new fleet of EMU’s overseeing a project for the commissioning the new train sets. Day to day you will ensure the safe management of all matters relating to the inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of all owned, leased and hired rolling stock as well as making sure maintainers improve processes and product to drive performance and availability to hit the business objectives. Further responsibility extends to ensuring that all new rolling stock or modifications to existing rolling stock are authorised and approved in accordance with all internal and legal requirements. This is a highly demanding and challenging role. Are you ready for it?

THE REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to demonstrate experience in leading transformation and change within a rolling stock environment supported by chartership (or working towards it) in mechanical or electrical engineering.
