Interface Engineer (Rolling Stock)

THE COMPANY:
A renowned international Train Systems manufacturing & rolling stock company who will be soon introducing a new fleet of trains in the UK. To support them with the Interface definition of the trains, we are looking for an experienced Interface Engineer at UK.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Interface Engineer will manage all technical interfaces between the vehicles designed by the Company and all stakeholders: infrastructure manager, operator, authorization bodies, certification bodies, groups with special interests (PMR).

In addition, the Interface Engineer will support the Design Approval process by the Customer and the ROSCOs and all Official Certification Bodies.

MAIN DUTIES:
All necessary works to ensure that all vehicle interfaces are completely defined on time and closed.
For this duty, the Interface Engineer will have the support of the Lead Engineers and the Design Team engineers in the Engineering Department at the Company’s Headquarters.

Coordination of the different stakeholders in the design definition and approval process (infrastructure manager, operator, authorization bodies, certification bodies): Obtain necessary data and information, provide vehicle information, control technical interfaces, etc.

Support the Design Team engineers in their activities in the UK: Information requests, meetings with Customer and suppliers, Homologation meetings.

The position of the UK Lead Engineer is closely linked not only to the Design engineers in the Company's headquarters but also to their Project Management, Homologation and Safety departments.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Engineer (the field of expertise is preferably mechanical or electrical).

Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years in the railway sector in Design Coordination / Management.

Others: Very good interpersonal and organizational skills, open minded, excellent abilities for team work, proactivity, proven level of autonomy and availability for frequent travelling within the UK and the other European offices.
