TXM Recruit are looking for a Junior Project Controller / Junior Planner working for one of the leading train manufacturers/maintenance train companies in the UK.
We are looking for individuals from a rolling stock background however other industries will be considered.
Junior Project Controller Ludgate Hill, London
Description: Junior Project Controller / Junior Planner
Rate: £140 per day (Umbrella or PAYE equivalent) Inside IR35
Location: Ludgate Hill, Central London + Home based working and must be willing to work from Newton Aycliffe depot.
Contract duration: 4 months +
Shifts: Monday to Friday (Days)
Qualifications:
University Degree in engineering or equivalent.

Junior Project Controller Ludgate Hill, London
Description: Junior Project Controller / Junior Planner

Shifts: Monday to Friday (Days)
- Must have experience or be familiar with P6 Primavera project management software for planning, managing, and executing your project work.
- To support in the preparation and maintenance of bid and operational programmes, by working closely with the Programme & Project Managers and delivery function leads.
- To provide support to stakeholders in ensuring that issues within programmes are pro-actively highlighted, understood and solutions are identified
- To produce reports and dashboards as required to effectively communicate programme compliance and status to Hitachi and external stakeholders
- To establish programme baselines and thereafter evaluating the potential effect of risks and changes
- Support in the controls of developing and administering company-wide resourcing forecasts, budgets and plans, with ability to set clear targets and deliverables within a tight programme environment.
- Support in the controls of forecasting, directing and advising programme and project managers and associated delivery teams with regard to effective execution of their assigned tasks to ensure schedules, allocated budgets and contractual requirements are achieved.
- Support in the controls of Implementing methodology for forecasting and managing facilities capacity requirements across all current programmes, and with a view to future available capacity to inform bid strategies.
- Support in the controls of developing a hierarchical approach to planning whereby planners within each function are accountable to programme teams and the PMO.
- Support in the controls of In conjunction with the projects finance team, introducing regular governance of financial performance across all programmes, and developing cost and time performance dashboards to be used within all programme reporting forums. Support in the controls of Introducing a standard approach to the planning of programmes, incorporating the methodology, tools and system.
- Support in the controls of supporting G-PLM system development and implementation to ensure stage gates and governance are aligned to the ultimate goal of successful on time delivery against contract requirements.
Qualifications:
University Degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Primavera P6 Software
- Advanced Excel user
- High level of computer literacy and fully conversant in Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Self-motivated and accustomed to being in positions of responsibility and accountability
