RAIL SENIOR / LEAD ENGINEER (PTS) - NORTH WEST - PERMANENT
Lead Engineer is currently required to work with a Network Rail Main Contractor in the North West. The work will involve managing a number of projects across a framework agreement, which covers projects based in Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
The successful candidate will:
- Head up the Rail Engineering Team at site level
- Have an in-depth understanding of the company goals, capabilities and requirements
- Have an excellent understanding of the way Network Rail operate
- Have worked for a Network Rail main contractor in a similar role, for over 5 years previously
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent, in and industry recognised and industry specific qualification such as Civil Engineering
- Hold a valid PTS
- Have an excellent understanding of site working environment, and the Health & Safety requirements specifically within the Rail industry
- Have experience of AutoCAD and Leica Total Stations
- Have excellent communication skills
The role will involve:
- Managing site based engineering teams, who will complete projects involving Civils, P-Way, & Structures
- Overseeing a portfolio of work on a framework agreement
- Planning of projects in advance, taking into account commercial, engineering and wider project requirements
- Recruitment of required team to meet requirements
- Providing training and development to engineering personnel and monitoring their progress and areas for improvement
- Having an input into Project Design and development phases
