The Department of Engineering and Mathematics is one of the UK's leading providers of engineering education with some of the very best teaching, learning and research facilities. For over 10 years, the department have successfully delivered professionally accredited courses to the Railway Industry. These courses range from bespoke CPD, Diploma, Degree and Masters programmes as well as the Railway Engineering Higher Apprenticeships. Developed in conjunction with the industry these courses provide a rich portfolio of education and continuous professional development programmes. To further strengthen our railway engineering provision, we are now seeking to appoint a lecturer/senior lecturer in Railway Signal Engineering to join the Railway Engineering team.

You will have a strong background in railway signalling as well as the broad area of electrical engineering and be able to demonstrate that you can deliver high quality teaching and learning experiences. You will be involved in all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment, including preparation, tuition, assessment and evaluation of students. In addition, you will undertake administrative duties as required of course delivery and you will also undertake income generation activities and research and business development activity as appropriate

You should have industrial experience in Railway and Signal Engineering, alongside a first degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent) and ideally a postgraduate qualification. Good communication skills, self-motivation and a commitment to engineering education are essential.
