Samuel Knight Rail are pleased to be recruiting for our Rail design client, based in Warrington, who are seeking to add to their Overhead Line Electrification (OLE) design team.

The UK's Rail industry is currently receiving unprecedented investment in modernisation programmes, and the installation of OLE to enable high speed rail is one of the most prominent beneficiaries of this investment. Currently, there is a shortage of engineers who can design the OLE infrastructure the country needs.

This is at a time when the majority of High Speed 2 (HS2) is yet to be awarded, so the shortage will only become more evident in the years to come.

Our client are seeking experienced and junior level engineers with experience of OLE design, but are also offering opportunities to Mechanical design engineers who are interested in a career in the Rail industry. A development plan to transition mechanical engineers to OLE engineers is in place.
