Role: P6 Planner – Rail
Day Rate: Between £300 & £400 per day
Location: Derby
Project: Network Rail Control Period 5 Framework

You will be working on the CP5 Framework Contract with Network Rail covering refurbishment and repair to existing Rail Structures such as bridges and tunnels, plus earthworks projects. This is run for the East Midlands area from our client’s office in Derby, where the candidate will be based working under a Senior Planner.

• The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years planning experience with a Contractor in a Rail environment and will need to demonstrate a good degree of competence in the use of Primavera P6 Planning Software package.
• They should have good experience of Network Rail standard requirements and working practices and the GRIP System.
• They should come from a Civil Engineering background, having spent some time working within a Construction Discipline prior to becoming a Planner. They should also ideally possess a recognised Civil / Building Qualification.

The General duties will comprise of the following:-

• Preparation of Integrated Programmes from GRIP Stage 2 through to 8
• Resource & Cost Loading of these Programmes.
• Application of Project and Activity Codings to enable production of “Construction Friendly” Programmes and reports.
• Monitoring of design and construction progress.
• Periodic updating of programmes.
• Recording and impacting into programs, Compensation Events, Early Warnings and the like.
• Production of monthly progress reports.
• Work closely with project commercial team in producing financial reports as required.

The CP5 team at their Derby office is a highly motivated and dedicated unit with project management often difficult to tie down and as such, you must share this pro-active attitude and be motivated sufficiently to update information. You must have excellent communication skills and a friendly, team-orientated disposition.

The successful planner will be responsible for a portfolio of projects, ranging from £0.5 to £5.0 Million which will be in various stages of development.

A Full driving licence will be required, and the candidate must reside within 1 Hours travelling distance of the above Derby Office.
