PTS Comms Installers required for project in South Wales, due to start January 2018

• Termination / Jointing /Testing of Fibre Optic Cable
  • Cable to be stripped to length
  • Fixing accessories to be installed on to the cable to incorporate either a joint or termination
  • Heat shrink to be applied
  • Fibre tube to be ‘ringed’
  • Individual fibres to be cleaved and cleaned and splice protector applied.
  • Fibres to be placed in to fusion splicer and spliced
  • Splice to be taken from splice tray and put in splice oven to seal the splice protector
  • Fibres to be installed in to splice containment (trays etc)
  • Sheath gap to be installed in its designated position
  • Cable to be labelled
  • Patch leads to be installed to relevant designation Cables
  • Cables to be tested in accordance with FTN Telecommunications Fibre Optic Cable Test Specification (666/SD/70991/000)
  • Test results to be prepared and submitted in format as per test spec.

  • Cable to be stripped to length
  • Fixing accessories to be installed on to the cable to incorporate either a joint or termination
  • Heat shrink to be applied
  • Cables to be cleaned
  • Cables to be terminated in to designed termination type (Mon Dragon / Krone etc)
  • Cables to be installed in to relevant containment
  • Sheath gap to be installed in its designated position
  • Cable to be labelled
  • Jumper cables to be installed to relevant designation
  • Cables to be tested to External & Internal Copper Cable Test Specification (666/SD/70999/000)
  • Test results to be prepared and submitted in format as per line standard

• Installation/test of Line Side Phones
  • Phone brackets to be installed on to post
  • Cable to be stripped to length
  • Heat shrink to be applied
  • Stuffing gland to be installed on to cable
  • Cables to be cleaned
  • Cables to be terminated in to phone
  • Labels to be installed
  • Phone to be functionally tested to standard, Continuity test of cables to be established and recorded on lineside telephone hand over sheet in accordance with Test Specification for the Integration Testing of Lineside Telephones (666/SD/73034/000)

Works to include but not limited to: -

1. All work to be carried out in accordance with WPP and Task Briefs
2. Planning installation and test activities in conjunction with Client
3. Attendance at site meetings in conjunction with above.
4. Termination of <phone number removed> and 2 pr cables
5. Testing of copper cables, (including prep for diversionary work)
6. Carry out diversionary works as per design
7. Fibre termination and testing of NR 24F/DISAC cable where required, either at joint locations or access nodes.
8. Submission of test results
9. Snagging where required
