My client is a leading engineering company in the UK who is looking to take on a Project Planner to provide planning and scheduling expertise as part of the management team. The role will be based in Glasgow, working on an exciting portfolio of multi-disciplinary rail projects.
The role:
- Ensuring the production of fully integrated programmes in the format required by the customer and project team.
- Cost forecasting, scheduling, monitoring and control of the projects.
- Sustaining detailed project schedules in accordance with the WBS, clearly defining tasks, activities, deliverables and milestones.
- To liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities and undertakings on all matters relating to planning and programming.
- Responsible for all aspects of project planning, programming and progress monitoring, including information flow, procurement, and site works.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of planning and rail industry experience
- Expert user of Primavera P6
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Specific knowledge of various rail technologies including Signalling, Track, M&E, Structures (bridges, tunnels, earthworks), Electrification and Plant
- Knowledge Earned Value Management and Critical Path Analysis
- Ability to communicate the planning strategy to the wider team
- You will hold a good degree, HND or equivalent experience gained in a related engineering industry.
