Product Engineer (Rolling Stock)

THE COMPANY:

A renowned international Train Systems manufacturing & rolling stock company who will be soon introducing a new fleet of trains in the UK. To support them with the development and improvement of the UK train and Tram platforms, we are looking for an experienced Product Engineer at UK.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Product Engineer will be involved in all technical activities necessary for the train platform design improvement, including new product developments for the UK market. He will act as a liaison between the Company and the UK market with the goal of developing a competitive train platform.

As a member of the UK train platform team, you will technically support the tendering processes collaborating with the tendering Teams. Once projects are awarded, you will also support the project Design Team in the early stages of the project.

MAIN DUTIES:

All necessary works to support the Platform Design Team at CAF in the development of all vehicle technical details. For this duty, the Product Engineer in the UK will have the support of the UK platform Lead Engineer and the Design Team at the Engineering Department at the Company’s Headquarters.

Support the Design Team engineers in their activities in the UK: Information requests, market surveillance, external consultant management, meetings with Customer and suppliers, Homologation meetings, documentation.

The position of the UK Product Engineer is closely linked not only to the Design engineers in the Company's headquarters but also to the Commercial, Tendering, Project Management, Homologation and Safety departments.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Engineer (the field of expertise is preferably mechanical or electrical).

Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years in the railway sector in Design Coordination/ Management or Systems Engineering

Others: Very good interpersonal and organizational skills, open minded, excellent abilities for team work, proactivity, proven level of autonomy and availability for frequent travelling within the UK and the other European offices.

Location: Manchester
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
