An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production manager to join my client's team in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to take their career up a level by being responsible for and managing up to 18 floor personnel.
The main responsibilities are:
*Creation of Business Stream Production Overview for Operations team.
*Control material flow through production to ensure timely availability of work to build cells.
*Day to day support of Product cells for material issues.
*Proactively engage in continuous improvement projects to improve production efficiencies, playing an active role in reducing product lead times and further advancements within the Manchester Production Facility.
*Ability to work both within a team and to work autonomously.
*Understand / Action Company procedures including Quality Notifications, PCN's and Concessions.
*Good communication skills within department and with other KB departments including Production, Stores, Quality and Purchasing.
*Ensure all health and environment procedures are adhered to at all times.
*Demonstrate behaviour in alignment with the Corporate Values and Business Goals (Vision 20/20).
*Work closely with the performance cockpit and manage all the key performance indicators.
*Motivate all personnel by being supportive and leading from the front (effective leadership)
*Work with the supply chain and pro-actively eliminate any potential risks.
*Work closely with all Internal Customers (Stakeholders) and create positive relationships.
*Drive improvements in the team to maximise process capability - use Lean tools & techniques.
*Manage capacity and labour constraints.
*Identify opportunities for training and development for both individuals and the team..
*Own Sales / order bank for relevant Business Stream.
*Manage, run and supervise full scale dynamometer and customer development project
*Organise and planning test schedule
*Develop test procedures for internal quality checks and customer demands
*Lead Train and motivate support engineer
*Continuous improvement of test facilities to a higher standard
*Optimise test routines to achieve the optimum output and quality
*Drive forward the necessary investment to improve dynamometer efficiency and effectively
*Implement quality system requirements such as SOP's, KPI's etc.
*Check, evaluate and interpret test results and create reports
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/competencies:
- Experience of SAP or similar MRP System
- People management/motivation/Leadership skills
- Excel Intermediate Level (capable of utilising and converting machine data into Microsoft Excel or other Windows based programmes)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and circuit diagrams of measurement equipment.
- Understanding of project management tools
- Time management
- Decision making awareness
- Financial awareness
- Environmental, Health & Safety awareness
- Effective communication
- Flexibility to travel
